Long story short, my dog had an undescended testicles and when they neutered him they couldn’t find one. They charged me over $700. They said they “looked” during the surgery for the 2nd one, but didn’t do an ultrasound. A month later l switched vets and just by touch she felt a lump upon examination. Two weeks later we did an ultrasound and yes found the 2nd testicle and she was surprised the 1st vet didn’t find it. I contacted Chevington because now my dog has to be neutered again to see if they would do it either for free or refund the previous surgery and they will not. Basically, they tried at the time what they could do and that’s just a “part of risk and complications in any surgical or medical treatment.”

Been going for over 20 years. They've taken great care of all my pets and their end of life. Boarding and grooming also great.

Been taking our pets here for several years now. One of my chief complaints is that it is impossible to get a same-day sick appointment. We recently adopted a rescue dog who has had some medical problems. One of the vets referred this dog to see a specialist. The appointment with the specialist was made and would occur a few weeks after their recommendation. (There was so much more that they could have been doing at the general level) Our dog had become sick in the meantime, and the staff and vets at Chevington REFUSED to see the dog until after the dog had seen the specialist. Instead, they told me to just take the dog to the emergency room instead of trying to see the dog. The staff and the vets made it perfectly clear that there was nothing more that they could do to help my pet, and openly mocked me for caring about my dog. I have a friend who is a Veterinarian and obtained her opinion on the matter. She was absolutely appalled at their response. She stated that there were definitely more testing options that could have occurred at the general practice level. Not to mention medication to deal with symptoms. The staff literally flagged my dog, if I called, to tell me that they wouldn’t see her. There were several other red flags during the course of our time with this veterinary practice. Dr. Young mismanaged are now deceased dogs pancreatitis, which resulted in a very expensive trip to the emergency room.
