Another clinic for dogs that sucks dont contact this people for emergency they will not take care of your dog if you are a poor citizen your pet will die because they charge $300 just for attendance the pets

The staff was very polite and emphatic. I just want people to be aware. It cost me $484 to euthanize my 45-50lb dog. My best friend of 8 years. And I didn’t get the cost/bill until after the procedure was done and he was loaded into my car for home burial. Which means, not only was I blindsided by the cost after saying goodbye, but also meant I had to go back inside to the register/triage and pay while just grieving over the loss of my boy. I don’t know if that’s common practice but It didn’t feel great.

My first experience here was with my cat, where they had misdiagnosed her and thought she was fine when she was clearly suffering from asthma attacks and could barely breathe. We had to come in a second time with a different doctor, either same day or the day after there to get correct diagnosis. Then before leaving, a vet assistant gave us the wrong medication information and I had to call back getting clarification, which if I didn’t my cat would’ve been in serious trouble. The staff needs more training. Fast forward to may 21. I come in and the first visit seemed ok as I was dealing with an emergency and she seemed to take correct steps. but I came in a second time with my dog and a different doctor was there which was fine. we elected to put him down. So, the doctor comes in with 2 syringes when we were ready and she lets me know she is injecting the sleeping solution and he will just be asleep. Not even 30 seconds after the seeping solution she injected later , she injects the euthanasia solution with no warning, and no word of mouth that it’s happening. I didn’t get the usual time that I’ve had in the past putting animals down to hold them and talk to them while they were pain free and just sleeping. This is unethical and tore away precious time I had with my soul dog. At that point there was nothing I could do because he was already dead and I wasn’t going to confront her there, but my whole family was shocked that she has just injected that without telling us or us giving the ok. I am still bent out of shape and heartbroken, and on top of it I have a large bill to pay to this place that seemingly lacked common sense in a very delicate situation. I’m not sure if this is normal protocol for this place, but they should know better. I reached out via email VCA, and it took weeks for anyone to get back to me and got a voice mail asking what they could do better. While I appreciate that, it shouldn’t fall on the customer to sit there and explain why this is wrong. I will say, They have one front desk worker who showed me compassion and did everything she could knowing I was losing my soul dog, I wish that the same courtesy was handed to me by the team that chose to not tell me about the euthanasia solution.
