We full time in our motorhome and when we need veterinarian care we use Google reviews to find one that is not only close but is highly rated. I was able to get an appointment for Bunny right away and the staff and doctor was amazing. They were very kind and caring. Took care of Bunny and she is now on the road to recovery.

I had such a positive experience with Solon Animal Hospital and Dr. Andrews. I brought my dog in for a sudden lump, and everyone was incredibly kind, gentle, and thorough during a very stressful week for me. Dr. Andrews took my concerns seriously, explained the next steps clearly, and followed up with the cytology results as soon as they came back. Thankfully, it appears to be a cyst and not worrisome, and I really appreciated having a clear plan if it fills up again in the future. My dogs are already established with a primary vet out of town, but after this experience, Solon Animal Hospital has absolutely become my trusted local backup. As someone who works in mental health, I really notice when people provide care with calmness, compassion, and professionalism, and that is exactly what I experienced here. I’m very grateful for the kindness shown to me and my little Coconut.

Update: Dr. Andrews called me herself on her day off to apologize and clarify. She gave me more information about what she actually saw and assured me that things were looking better. I appreciate the care, I only wish the information had been shared directly from the vet during the appointment. This was our first experience with Solon Animal Hospital. Our cat had an ear infection and was scratching at it, so we scheduled an appointment. Our initial appointment was with Dr. Hottois who looked into her ear, performed a cytology, and tried to clean her ear as best as she could. When she came back she told us that there is a polyp inside of our cat's ear canal. We were told that it would more than likely need to be surgically removed as it is a matter of when, not if, it gets infected again, and could also be impacting her breathing if it is far enough down the canal. They didn't want to irritate her ear any further so they wanted to do a follow up once the antibiotic ear drops had a chance to clear up some of the inflammation so they could get a better look in her ear. We were prescribed a flush solution and antibiotic drops and told to come back in a week for the follow up. Dr. Hottois and her assistant were extremely informative and knowledgeable, and made us feel like we were in good hands. Today we went back for our follow up technician appointment in the afternoon, which was under Dr. Andrews. Our cat was taken to the back for all of maybe 5 minutes, then brought back to the room and we were told that it seems better but they couldn't really look as our cat wouldn't let them see in her ear.. The technician said to just keep doing what we are doing (antibiotic drops and a cone) for our cat and to notify them if anything changes for the worse. I asked about the polyp in her ear that seemed serious at the first appointment, only to get a confused look like he didn't even know what I was talking about. He went and asked the Dr. who apparently said its fine and to just keep an eye on it? This second appointment left us feeling very uncertain as to whether the polyp in her ear is a serious concern or not as it seems like they didn't even know what we were talking about meanwhile Dr. Hottois made it seem like kind of a big deal and had clearly included a note about it on the description part of our receipt... Honestly, with how short they had our cat in the back during the follow up, not performing a cytology or anything, apparently being unaware of the polyp, and being unable to look in her ear properly it makes me wonder if they even took her out of the crate..
