I called trying to get my dog in to be seen and before I could even tell her the symptoms she interrupted me and told me she didn’t have any appointments til Friday. Mind you my dog has been vomiting, limping and hasn’t been able to keep anything down. Not even water. I will not recommend this clinic.

I just want to share my experience here! Hopefully no one else will experience this situation. My dog was what now seems like was in liver failure. And was also suggested in our appointment by Jillian that his head pressing was a symptom of liver failure but did not seem to conclude that was the problem. But instead decided that he could have rabies. So when we decided to have my 15 yo dog euthanized, because that felt like the best option for us and him. He had been declining for some time. She felt as if he could have rabies. It's a long story, but in the end I had to leave his body so they could decapitate him and send it for rabies testing unnecessarily. Was told this was a law but later found that to be untrue. So I called a few hours later to see if I could just take him since rabies testing didn't need to be done. But it was too late. Anyway Jillian messaged me back and was incredibly rude and unprofessional. I do have the messages. I wouldn't suggest that anyone go here. There isn't enough space on this review to explain everything that happened. And I'm sure she will reply with tons of excuses just like she does on every negative review. And it's funny days after this happened they get a ton a positive reviews on Google 🤨🤔. They really turned an already difficult situation into something traumatizing. Anyway best of luck if you take your animal here. I want to be clear here. I am more upset by the response I got when I called to question the fact that I found out it was not a law to rabies test my deceased dog. We just wanted to take him home and bury him. But the response i got from the veterinarian was rude and unprofessional. I did not start out that way. We knew it was time. But was not treated with compassion for our decision but ridiculed for not doing more testing or taking meds home. I know she knows the signs of a pet trying to die. Thats her profession. That wasn't even an option she presented. That was our decision. He would have died that night im sure. But i didn't want him to suffer anymore. When I researched liver failure, all the symptoms matched. She suggested that. But did not proceed with that as an diagnosis. Only after we decided on euthanasia she was dead set that he could have rabies even though he was fully vaccinated and there are 0 confirmed cases in Ohio in 2025.

I have been taking my pets here for years and everyone that works there is fantastic. They've been there through the puppies to the unfortunate times. I have been hearing things and saw some nasty reviews and feel the need to stand up for this clinic. Remember there are always 2 sides to a story and I bet there is here as well. A simple google search would show they were not wrong in the euthanasia or the rabies testing. I am genuinely sorry for any and all loss, but attacking a place of business is not it. You still have my and many others faith Scioto Trail Animal Clinic!
