Up for his regular yearly appt, they also took xrays of his chest area, having a chronic cough (trachea collapsing) put on medicine and doing much better!

If I could give a negative, I would. I had a 17 year old dog that was a patient with Mapleton Veterinary. He was at the end of his life, like that day when we called and tried to move his appointment sooner. He had one scheduled the next day. He was yelping horribly for a couple of hours. The reason for the appointment the next day was for us to let him go peacefully. It was a very hard decision and unfortunately, we should’ve done something sooner. When we called the office, we were informed that they hadn’t seen him in a couple years so they couldn’t get him in sooner because he had to have a well check before any decision could be made. When it was explained that he wasn’t going to make it to the next day and how bad he was, they wouldn’t do anything to help him. Just said bring him in the next day. We had NO issue with them examining him. We had NO issue paying for that service. All we wanted was for him to be helped. It was heartbreaking. Especially knowing they were open and wouldn’t take the time to see him and the reason was some lame excuse that it has been sometime since he had been in. Don’t you have time set aside for emergencies? The fact is, we took him to the vet when he needed it. Obviously since he was 17, he was well taken care of and loved. Finally we found someone who got him in within 40 minutes from our call. We drove to Wooster and they brought us in through the back when we arrived. Within minutes of being there, Tucker collapsed. He was unresponsive but still breathing. The vet tech ran to get the vet. We were literally there for no more than 10 minutes. I cannot believe his vet couldn’t take 10 minutes out of their busy day to take care of a patient of theirs and someone else had to.

My dogs have been going there since they were babies. They are 10yrs and 4yrs old now. I used to live about,5 minutes away. Now I live 45 minutes away and I will not switch vets. Mapelton has veey nice people and they care for your dogs.
