I wish I could give this a big fat zero. My dog died yesterday because they were too busy to look at her. Anyone reading this, do yourself and your pet a favor, find an alternative to this place. Please. The life you save will be your pet's.

Our dog unexpectedly took a down turn last night around 11pm. My parents took him to this place around 11:20pm, mind you they arent closed til midnight. They denied seeing him because the only "doctor" they had on staff was in an "emergency surgery." Not one staff offered to see him or check on him. They recommended driving him Ann Arbor for care, as my mom is sobbing at their front door, they turned them down as if they had no care for how my parents were feeling or how our poor dog was doing. This is ridiculous coming from people who are suppose to help take care of your animals. Would not recommend taking your animal if it is an emergency because its clear its only an emergency on their time.

When your 17-year-old dog has another pancreatitis flare, it’s terrifying. From the moment we walked into Veterinary Emergency Center of Maumee, every member of the team treated both Liberace and us with genuine compassion, kindness, and professionalism. The staff took the time to thoroughly examine him, explain everything they were seeing, and answer every question without making us feel rushed. They caught his flare early, started treatment immediately with Panoquell and anti-nausea medication, and gave us a clear plan for getting him back home as quickly and safely as possible. What stood out most was how much they genuinely cared. They understood that Liberace isn’t “just a dog”—he’s our family. They celebrated that we had caught the pancreatitis early, reassured us without dismissing our concerns, and treated him with such gentle, loving care throughout our visit. Emergency veterinary medicine can be incredibly stressful, but this team made an awful situation so much more manageable. We left feeling informed, supported, and confident that Liberace had received exceptional care. Thank you to everyone at Veterinary Emergency Center of Maumee for taking such wonderful care of our little guy. We hope we don’t need emergency services again anytime soon, but if we do, there’s nowhere else we’d rather go.

A few hours ago our familys Chihuahua was put to sleep here. I can tell you if you’re looking for a place that shows empathy or compassion during your pets last moments, this is NOT the place. To put it bluntly they make it very clear from beginning to the end that payment is more important than care, if you can’t tell by the multiple signs that cover the walls and cabinets. They make sure to invoice you and run your card before any care is attempted. Before we were even seen by a doctor the male nurse needed brief history, as well as signatures of consent forms, where he went on spiel asking if it were okay if our pet was possibly put on social media as a “good feels” type of content. As we were paying over 700$ for a literal wooden urn, he asked if it were okay if it were hand delivered to our house, we said no. To which he explained that people tend to leave their animals ashes there and never pick them up, and that they had ashes there from years ago. Mind you by this point we’re all in tears and can barely get our words out. Like? Okay we’re really just gonna drop 1200 for you to euthanize and put her in a custom urn just to leave it there? You could hear the staff in the back rooms laughing to eachother as he injected the euthanasia, just made the experience of losing a family member 10x worse, wouldn’t recommend
