If you have an "Overly Friendly, Excitable Loving Dog" who jumps for attention. "DO NOT" take the dog to this veterinary clinic under any circumstances.
A Iittle over a year ago I had made an appointment for my dog to get a shot (Cytopoint) for inching. I had called ahead of time to see if someone could come out to my car and take my dog in for the shot without me going inside...
A vet tech came out to take my dog inside, I was told her first name is "KAI," a young gal with pink hair. When she brought my dog back out, you could tell she was mad, she then proceeded to "Dress me Down." Questioning me if I gave my dog a sedative (trazodone) before I brought him in. I told her I did, and then she ask if I gave him a dose the night before also. I told her just the one (1) dose, four (4) hours before I bought him in. She continued to be upset.
After leaving, I started thinking how this "KID" talked down to me and how disrespectful she was. I then called the office to complain. I requested that she (Kai) never be allowed around my dog in his future appointments. The office manager, Kristina agreed..
Just recently I brought him back in for the same shot (Cytopoint) and went inside with my dog this time. As we waited in the examination room then to my Surprise! a veterinarian came in, who I did not know, did not introduced herself, and who has never treated my dog before that I'm aware. And with her, the vet tech, "KAI," that is not supposed to be around my dog as previously agreed too.
This veterinarian's name is Dr. Flood, then she proceeded to be "EXTREMELY RUDE," giving me the "THIRD DEGREE" by asking me right off the bat, if I gave my dog (Beau) his trazodone and another sedative called "Klonopin" that he was NEVER prescribed. To make things worse, the vet tech, "KAI," had a dog muzzle in her hand.
After this RUDE interrogation by Dr. Flood. I started questioning her back, by first telling her my dog has NEVER been prescribed Klonopin and how KAI was not supposed to be around my dog. She (Dr. Flood) then stated, she's not going to take people yelling at her and took my dogs meds and left the examination room.
NOTE: I don't believe my dog would ever bite any one, even if you tried to make him. Goes to the groomer without any sedative and has never had any problems.
After being left alone in the examination room for ten (10) minutes. I then called the front desk and explained how hard it is to come here and insisted he be treated. About 10 minutes later the office manager, Kristina came in with another vet tech and gave my dog his kennel cough nose spray and then the shot (that he has had before with no problems or side effects). After the shot of Cytopoint, my dog was placed on the floor and seconds later he let out a big painful cry that he has never done prior with Cytopoint.
Five (5) days later my dog suffered with severe diarrhea (lasting weeks) I then brought him back in to get checked out. They did some testing and couldn't find a definitive cause and gave him some antibiotic to take. I asked the vet tech if diarrhea is a side effect of Cytopoint and they said NO. Of which I found out later NOT to be true. I then confronted them about what they said was wrong, then they denied telling me this was told to me. Which is a total lie!
I then questioned if my dog could have received a larger dose of Cytopoint by accident and was told no.
On "May 12th" I told Kristina I will NO longer be using them and needed to pickup his records. She said I didn't need to come in, she could email them to me and she did on this same day.
On "May 24," to my surprise, I received my dog's records in the mail, with a letter, dated "May 20th" from Kristina, saying they will no longer see my dog. - "This letter is clearly an attempt to cover-up the staffs wrong doings and it will be reported to the corporate office.
It's a great hospital. Extremely knowledgeable, nice, caring and helpful receptionists, vet technicians and doctors. Plus whenever we have an animal emergency, they always squeeze us in.
