Update 7/20/2026: Never received a call back. Very disappointed in the inability to follow through. Update 6/22/2026: We spoke directly to the owner of the veterinary practice, Dr. Zimmerman. He agreed to review our case and get back to us. We are absolutely heartbroken over the loss of our puppy and deeply disappointed by our experience. Our puppy had a small foreign object in his stomach along with aspiration pneumonia. Before agreeing to surgery, we repeatedly asked whether the veterinarian genuinely believed the procedure could save him. We made it clear that we did not want to put him through a major operation if his condition was already too sick for recovery. We were assured that surgery was the appropriate course of action and were told he was only slightly anemic—not enough to delay the procedure. Based on those conversations, we moved forward with surgery and spent thousands of dollars trying to save him. The next morning, we were informed that he needed to be transferred to MedVet. The situation was presented to us as though he likely needed a blood transfusion and oxygen support. We were quoted an additional $1,500–$2,000 and were given the impression that his chances of survival were still favorable. At no point were we told that he was actively dying or that his prognosis was extremely poor. When we arrived at MedVet, the emergency veterinarian was absolutely shocked by our puppy's condition. We quickly learned that he was critically ill and had very little chance of survival. The doctor explained that the severity of his condition was far beyond what he had been led to understand and stated that, in his opinion, surgery should never have been performed given how sick he was beforehand. We were also told that his condition after surgery was so severe that there was no realistic path to recovery. The difference between what we were told before surgery, what we were told during the transfer, and what we learned at MedVet was staggering. We feel that critical information about our puppy's true condition and prognosis was either withheld, minimized, or not communicated honestly. Had we been given an accurate understanding of how grave the situation was, we would have made very different decisions. Instead, we were left feeling misled, financially devastated, and forced to say goodbye to a puppy we loved beyond words. We spent thousands of dollars on a surgery that ultimately could not save him, followed by additional emergency costs for what we later learned was a hopeless situation. We trusted this veterinary team during one of the most vulnerable moments of our lives. Whether important complications occurred that were never fully explained to us or our puppy's condition was not honestly communicated from the beginning, we are left with more questions than answers. Nothing will bring our sweet puppy back, but families deserve complete transparency when making life-and-death decisions for a beloved pet. No family should have to endure this experience.

Lady did great! Even got her nails trimmed. Ralph screamed bloody murder when they drew his blood. Otherwise good though. Tests all good
